Manager - Taupō, Principal
After earning his Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) Degree in Michigan and then 7 years of civil engineering design experience in the United States, Thomas joined Cheal in 2008 and has since been operating as a Senior Civil Engineer in the Taupō region. Prior to managing the Taupō office, Thomas obtained Chartered Professional Engineer status, progressed to management of the civil engineering team and then progressed to managing the wider engineering team containing civil, structural and geotechnical engineers.
With 20 years of experience, Thomas is familiar with best practice designs, encourages and participates in collaboration across the Engineering, Planning, and Surveying disciplines, and is familiar with local development requirements. He has built a solid rapport and maintains good relationships with clients, colleagues, local contractors, and local governing agencies.
Thomas is keen to work with clients to develop efficient and cost-effective solutions while maintaining good communication and providing innovative solutions to client needs.
